Embrace collective responsibility, Fasoranti urges Nigerians

The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, has urged Nigerians to renew their hope in the country and embrace a stronger sense of collective responsibility towards building a greater Nigeria and a more prosperous Ondo State.
Fasoranti made the call while reflecting on the significance of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, stressing that Nigeria’s journey since gaining independence on October 1, 1960, had been characterised by “seasons of promise and difficulty, moments of triumph and trial.”
According to him, despite the numerous challenges confronting the nation, Nigeria has remained standing and hopeful, attributing the country’s resilience over the years to the sustaining hand of God.
The SSG said the Independence anniversary provided an opportunity for citizens to reflect on the nation’s journey, appreciate the progress recorded so far and renew their commitment to contributing meaningfully to its future.
He noted that the October 1 celebration marked the third and final day of the state’s anniversary programme, which commenced on Friday, September 25, with a Jumat service at the Akure Central Mosque.
Fasoranti added that the programme continued on Sunday, September 27, with a Thanksgiving service held at Agape Christian Church of God in Akure, before culminating in the Independence Day celebration.
He therefore urged Nigerians to continue believing in the possibilities before the country and in the capacity of its leaders to translate their visions into meaningful and tangible development.
He stressed that the task of building a better Nigeria required the commitment and participation of all citizens.
