There is palpable tension in Edo State following the decision of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to go on another two-hour break before announcing the result of the remaining two local government areas.

Results have been announced in 16 of the 18 LGAs remaining only Ovia South West and Orhionmwon LGAs.

Anxious voters who have been keeping vigil told TheNiche that the decision was curious and unhealthy.

“The results are public knowledge. They were all announced at the polling booth and the party agents have them. So, what do they need two hours for,” an observer who wanted to remain anonymous queried.

Meanwhile INEC officers have confirmed the claim by the PDP agent on the sudden disappearance of Orhionmwon LGA Collation Officer after arriving at INEC headquarters, Benin, with election result.
