Eagles World Cup plans may start in Nigeria, Rohr proposes

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has stated that Super Eagles will commence it’s world Cup preparations in Nigeria.
The Franco-German coach in a chat with Journalists in Tangier, Morocco divulged that he has proposed to the NFF for Super Eagles to kick start preparations for the World Cup in Nigeria in May, with a friendly game with an African country.
“I wish we start our preparations for the World Cup in our country, we should spend the first money for camping in our country and for Nigerian people. To say goodbye to our fans and for them to wish the team good luck in Russia,” Rohr revealed.
“I have proposed to the NFF for us to play our first friendly game in Lagos or Abuja, the heart of the country and to start the first week of our preparation in Nigeria and we hope the government will help us with a good pitch. There are good stadium but the pitches at the moment are not in good conditions.
“I hope we can get a good pitch and we’ll have a friendly game with an African country in Nigeria and to see everyone play, about 25 players have been proposed. It’s my wish for our World Cup plans before we travel to Europe and play England, then move to Russia for the final phase of camping,” he added.
