British pundit and former Chelsea striker, Chris Sutton, has forecasted that Manchester City, Arsenal and the Blues will secure three points in their respective English Premier League (EPL) fixtures this weekend.
He made the prediction on Thursday, October 22, 2026, in his column for BBC Sport, while taking on actor James Merry.
In the early kick-off on Saturday, Sutton suggested that Man City will make it eight wins in eight games and beat in-form Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park.
He, however, noted: “Villa have beaten City in this fixture in each of the past three years under Unai Emery.
”They will fancy it this time too—they are seven unbeaten in all competitions, and flying at the moment.”
In the encounter between Arsenal and Everton at the Emirates Stadium on the same day, the former Chelsea star backed the Gunners to defeat the visitors 2-0 and move to 21 points on the EPL league table.

Sutton said: “Arsenal were so ugly in the way they beat Nottingham Forest last weekend, but were a lot easier on the eye in the midweek draw with Bayern Munich.
”They are going to be without the injured Bukayo Saka for this game, but they are at home and they should still have too much for Everton.”
He also expects Chelsea to beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 in the last game on Saturday during the London derby at Stamford Bridge.
Reflecting on Spurs’ first win of the season, Sutton said: “It was a big result for them to beat Coventry on Monday, but they have an awful record at Stamford Bridge, with only one win there in the Premier League era.
”I don’t see them getting anything this time, either.”
In Sunday’s games, however, Sutton made bold predictions, saying both Manchester United and Liverpool will lose their respective matches to Bournemouth and high-flying Brighton.
According to him, the Red Devils will suffer a shocking 2-1 loss to visiting Bournemouth at Old Trafford, while the Seagulls will defeat Arne Slot’s men 3-1 at Anfield.
Below are Sutton’s EPL fixture predictions for week 8:
Friday night
Ipswich Town 1–1 Nottingham Forest
Saturday
Aston Villa 1–2 Man City
Arsenal 2–0 Everton
Coventry 1–2 Fulham
Chelsea 3–1 Tottenham
Sunday
Crystal Palace 2–2 Newcastle
