Melaye had earlier alleged that the Tinubu-led administration was plotting to withdraw security after realising Governor Adeleke was winning the guber election.

Former Kogi State gubernatorial candidate and former lawmaker, Dino Melaye, has mocked the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following the party’s loss in the just-concluded governorship election in Osun State.
He mocked the chieftains of the ruling party on Sunday in a now-trending post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, won a fresh four-year term to lead the state after defeating his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His victory was confirmed in Osogbo early on Sunday after the Returning Officer for the Osun governorship election, Joshua Ogunwole, announced the results at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Collation Centre in the state.
According to him, Governor Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to emerge as the winner of the keenly contested exercise.

Oyebamiji of the APC came second with a total vote count of 444,815. Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) was a distant third, having received 17,180 votes.
“For that, Adeleke Ademola Jackson of the Accord Party, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is hereby returned elected,” he said.
Following the announcement, Melaye took to his verified handle, noting that despite the calibre of political figures in the APC, they still lost the off-cycle election.
The former federal lawmaker went on to insinuate that the party will soon go into extinction, urging the party to “rest in peace”.
Speaking via his X account, Melaye said, “Till we meet again APC. Rest in Peace. 34 Governors, Senate President and Tinubu defeated. Odabo Tinubu… Ancestral State lost.”
