Dickson hails Fubara for showing restraint in fight with Wike

Dickson also advised the Rivers State gov and his predecessor, Wike, to continue exhibiting restraint to maintain the peace in Rivers State

Former governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson has praised Rivers State governor, Sim Fubara for  exercising restraint despite the crisis in his state, saying “Power without restraint is one of the most dangerous things”

He made this known recently while addressing Fubara when he led a Bayelsa State delegation of political and traditional leaders to Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

He went on to say Rivers can only remain peaceful if the incumbent governor and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, continue to exhibit restraint.

The former governor also applauded President Bola Tinubu’s interventions and efforts in bringing stability to the state, while also hailing the efforts of other leaders.

Speaking during the visit, Dickson said: “Power without restraint is one of the most dangerous things, but you have restraint; continue to show that.

“Even lesser developments in other states could have set a whole state on fire, but with your calm demeanour and your purposeful leadership, and with the support of the citizenry and with the restraint that both you and your predecessor have shown, this state, even as we witness today, continues to be peaceful, and we pray it should be so forever.”
