Deputy Senate President, Jibrin, Ganduje arrive Saudi Arabia for Dantata’s burial

Jibrin and Ganduje were accompanied to the funeral of the business mogul by other prominent Nigerians.

Nigeria’s Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, and former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, are  in Madina, Saudi Arabia, to witness the burial of business mogul and  philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

This was made known on Tuesday in a statement released by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Senate Deputy President, Ismail Mudashir.

TheNiche had earlier reported that the late Dantata, a highly respected elder statesman died in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, over the weekend.

He is expected to be laid to rest on Tuesday (today) in Madina, close to his wife, Rabi’a, who died last year.

Speaking about the event via the statement, Mudashir said his boss, Barau and Ganduje departed nation’s capital, Abuja on Monday evening and touched down at the Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Madina, at 5:15 a.m. Saudi Arabian time.

He added that other dignitaries on the trip include the Kano State APC Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas; Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, Senator Muntari Dandutse; Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Ali Madaki; and Hon. Sani Bala.

Also in the delegation are Ahmad Munzali Dantata, a son of the late elder statesman; Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, a federal lawmaker representing Makoda/Dambatta; and Usman Yahaya Kansila, among others.
