Wading in on the trend, the 33-year-old singer urged upcoming artists not to forsake God once they have “made it”, warning that the music industry is filled with distractions.
Giving tips on how to stay successful, he noted that they should believe in themselves and continue to work on their craft, just as he did.
Speaking on the show, Davido said: “My advice for up-and-coming artists is, first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and stay close, especially when you make it, because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here.”
