Afrobeats singer and record label owner, David Adeleke, aka Davido, has paid homage to his late colleague, Olanrewaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi, better known as Sound Sultan, in the music video of his latest song, ’10 Kilo’.
The video, which was directed by Director Pink, featured scenes with a backdrop of Sound Sultan’s picture and plus-size models dancing in front of the banner.
The hit song which was originally released to identify with plus-size women, has similar lyrics to Sound Sultan’s hit song ‘Orobo’, which also celebrated plus-size women.

Sound Sultan released a remix version of Orobo with Flavour in 2013, and the song dominated Nigeria’s airwaves for a long period.
Since the singer’s demise in July 2021, however, a cross-section of Nigerian artists, including 2Face, Burna Boy, Spyro, Sean Tizzle, and several others, have paid tributes to him at different times.
Sound Sultan is regarded as one of the pioneers of modern Afrobeats music, with hits such as Jagabantis, Natural Something, Ole, Kokose, Orobo, Very Good Bad Guy, and others helping to popularise the genre.
