Danladi thanks Tinubu, Abdulrazaq for emergence as Kwara APC guber candidate

Winner of the primary election for governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State Salihu Yakubu Danladi has said his victory at the election is a success of all other aspirants and members of the party in the state. 

Danladi, who is the incumbent Speaker of the State House of Assembly and who contested the governorship ticket with 15 other aspirants thanked President Bola Tinubu and the state governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for their support for him in the election.

The winner who spoke with newsmen after announcement of result of the election also thanks members of the party for voting for him and for considering Kwara North Senatorial District for the ticket.

“We need to thank God Almighty for where we are. In APC, we are all one. There is no winner, there is no loser. We are all winners. I need to thank Kwarans for standing by Kwara North,” Speaker said while speaking with journalists shortly after he was declared winner of the primary election. 

“I would thank Mr. President. He is truly the Jagaban of Borgu. One, this is the first time since 1999 that a Borgu kingdom will have a governorship candidate from a ruling party. And sincerely, we thank His Excellency, the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, the father of the nation, for looking at where he got the Jagaban of Borgu, and take it to that side.

“We also need to thank Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. He’s a man of his words. He’s a leader. He’s a transformer. And he has done very well across different sectors,” he stated.

Danladi promised to build on the legacies of Governor Abdulrazaq to move the state to greater heights.

“We are part and parcel of this administration. As a speaker for almost seven years today, I’m practically a part of all the policies of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. All I need to say is legacy continues and our state will be better for it,” he said.
