Chelsea become first EPL team to score in first five minutes of 3 consecutive league fixtures after 2-1 loss to Arsenal

​Chelsea took the lead against London rivals Arsenal in the first minute, but lost the game after goals from Havertz and Ødegaard.

​Despite their first loss of the season to English Premier League (EPL) champions Arsenal on Sunday night in the London derby, Chelsea have set a new league record.

​The Blues lost the encounter played at the Emirates Stadium 2-1 after scoring the opening goal of the intriguing fixture.

​Summer recruit from Aston Villa, Morgan Rogers, gave Xabi Alonso’s men a very early lead against their North London rivals.

​However, the Gunners came back from behind to record their third consecutive league win of the season, courtesy of goals from Kai Havertz and club captain Martin Ødegaard.

​The first-minute strike by Rogers meant Chelsea became the first team in Premier League history to score in the first five minutes of each of their opening three matches.

​In their curtain-raiser of the season, the West London outfit took the lead after one minute through João Pedro as they edged Fulham 3-2 at the Craven Cottage.

​Again, in their 4-3 win against Brighton in their second fixture at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea went in front as early as the 4th minute after Roméo Lavia poked the ball over the line.
