Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has suggested that North London club Arsenal are closer to winning the English Premier League (EPL) title than Manchester City.

He made this known recently during a candid interview with British pundit and Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand.

Speaking on whether the Gunners can lift the EPL trophy this season, Casemiro insisted that Mikel Arteta’s men can do it because they are so close to the finish line.

“Arsenal, I don’t know if it’s this season or next season, he [Arteta] will win,” Casemiro said.

Pressed further by Ferdinand on whether he thinks Arsenal will win the title, the former Real Madrid star added, “Of course, it’s too close, it’s too close.

“It’s the same with Paris [Saint-Germain]. Four years ago, they lost to us. Messi played there, Neymar, and why did they lose? Because they lost to Madrid [who had a target].”

Arsenal are two league wins away from becoming English champions for the first time in 22 years. They are also in the final of the UEFA Champions League.
