A cross-dresser, Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju, popularly called Bobrisky, has denied being arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.

Bobrisky is known for dressing in women clothing and behaving like a woman.

The 27-year-old University of Lagos graduate is believed to have undergone a surgical procedure which altered his male genetics to those of female. In May 2019, he announced that he is now a ‘she.’

The gender change earned Bobrisky huge following on the social media. And that also made him rich as his social media pages became huge marketing platforms for advertisers.

Then came the difficulty for the Nigerian government which has a law prohibiting gay relationship. But those laws can only take effect when there is evidence of marriage or sex between same genders. Bobrisky has avoided both, at least in public.

The director general of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Olusegun Runsewe, has however said that Bobrisky is a bad influence on the Nigerian youth and should be stopped. He made the comment while addressing some Nigerians who protested against Bobrisky’s lifestyle in Abuja.
