Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 11 housemates have been divided into male and female teams for selected competitions and tasks in what appears to be a fresh twist in the show.
This development was made known on Sunday night by Big Brother, otherwise known as Biggie, after the reality TV show premiered with its first set of contestants.
BBNaija Season 11, themed “Show Ya Sef”, officially got underway on Sunday as organisers unveiled some of the housemates set to jostle for the grand prize of this year’s edition.
Announcing the new twist to the first batch of housemates, Biggie said: “The house will be split into two groups: the guys and the ladies, with key house challenges to be contested along those lines.”

Following the introduction of the gender-based teams, arena games, wager tasks, and other competitions will be contested between them.
Biggie also told the housemates that they are expected to work together to secure victories and rewards.
The winner of this year’s edition of the reality show, which features over 20 housemates, is expected to receive a grand prize package comprising ₦100m in cash and a brand-new SUV, bringing the total prize value to ₦160m.
