Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has agreed an improved new contract with the North London club after reassuring fans he would be staying.
The Spanish tactician’s current deal expires at the end of this season, but talks over a new contract have been ongoing for a number of months.
Arteta led Arsenal to their first English Premier League (EPL) title after a 22-year wait last season and reached the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final, which they lost on penalties to PSG.
According to BBC Sport, it is now understood that the 42-year-old gaffer has reached a final agreement with the Gunners to extend his stay at the club.

There is no confirmation regarding the length of his new contract, but it is set to keep him at the club into at least his seventh year following his arrival in December 2019.
The new contract will also include a significant pay rise from his current salary of £10m per year, plus an additional £5m in bonuses.
Prior to signing the new deal, Arteta told fans last week that he had no intention of walking away from the Emirates Stadium.
He said: “They [the fans] don’t have to worry about any of that because I want to be here. I’m extremely happy and I feel very grateful to work with the people I work with.”
