Following the shock resignation of Real Madrid Manager, Zinedine Zidane, bookmakers are touting former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, as a possible replacement for the Frenchman.

Zidane announced that he was stepping down as Madrid’s manager after a two-year stint with the club after Rafa Benitez was sacked due to poor performance.

Wenger, who has managed Arsenal for 22 years said that he had been approached on many occasions by Real, stressing that he might give it a shot to manage the La Liga side.

There are a number of contenders for the role, as Real attempts to find a manager as successful as Zidane, who won three Champions League trophies since taking over from Rafael Benitez in January 2016 as well as a league title in 2016/17.

Loew

Germany national team manager Joachim Loew has emerged as one of the early favourites, while youth-team manager and former player, Guti, is also likely to be in the frame.

Real may also decide to attempt to poach a successful Premier League manager. They likely wouldn’t encounter much resistance if they tried to recruit Antonio Conte from Chelsea, although tempting Mauricio Pochettino to the club from Tottenham Hotspur could prove difficult.  The Argentinian signed a new five-year deal with the north London club last week.
