Arokodare justifies joining EPL club, Wolverhampton Wanderers

Arokodare scored 36 goals in ninety five appearances in all competitions for Belgian Pro League outfit, KRC Genk.

Super Eagles striker, Tolu Arokodare has explained why he opted for English Premier League (EPL) outfit, Wolverhampton Wanderers during the summer transfer window. 

The 24-year-old forward justified his decision during a recent interview with Belgian outlet, HLN.

Arokodare moved to Molineux from Belgian Pro League outfit KRC Genk on a permanent transfer on deadline day.

Prior to this, he was linked with several top clubs in Europe but eventually  decided to join a Premier League club.

The Nigeria international made his debut for Wolves against Newcastle United at the St James’ Park on Saturday.

Speaking on the move, Arokodare said he joined Wolves to fulfill his dream of playing in the Premier League.

He added that he did not hesitate to join Vitor Pereira’s side when he was approached by the club.

He said, “When Wolverhampton became concrete, I didn’t hesitate for a second. No one had to convince me. Everyone also knew I absolutely wanted to go to the Premier League.”

Arokodare joined KRC Genk in 2023, and scored 36 goals in ninety five appearances in all competitions for the club.
