APC confirms Ganduje’s resignation as Tinubu directs Dalori to resume as acting Chairman

Dalori will remain APC’s acting National Chairman until the party’s National Executive Committee members meet

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the resignation of its National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje. 

The development was made known in a statement by APC’s spokesman, Felix Morka.

He added that Ali Bukar Dalori has assumed the role of APC’s National Chairman in acting capacity following a directive by President Bola Tinubu.

According to him, the president gave the order following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje from his position.

Ganduje tendered his resignation letter to the national Working Committee, NWC, through the party’s National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru on Friday.

Speaking further on the development, Morka said Dalori will be the acting National Chairman until the party’s National Executive Committee members meet.

He said: “The President has directed the Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, to assume the position of Acting National Chairman, pending the meeting of the National Executive Committee of the Party to be summoned immediately to fill the vacancy created by the resignation.”

APC’s confirmation of Ganduje’s exit puts to rest the cloud of confusion surrounding the former chairman’s  resignation.

Several reports had connected Ganduje’s sudden departure to political calculations that would pave the way for Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

However, the former Kano State governor in his letter of resignation claimed he left his position.to attend to his health.
