Ancelotti insists Copa del Rey, UCL are not ‘must win’

Ancelotti also said he’s not worried about his future but focused on two cup competitions, arguing his contract runs till 2024

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti has insisted he will be staying at the Santiago Bernabéu until the end of his contract with the La Liga champions.  

He also argued that his future is not dependent on winning the Copa del Rey final on Saturday and the Champions League semi-final first leg with Manchester City on Tuesday.

Los Blancos trail Barcelona by 14 points in La Liga with just 5 more games to play and will most likely surrender their title at the end of this season to the Catalans.

Ancelotti and Madrid’s campaign will now be defined by the cup clash with Osasuna at Estadio de La Cartuja, which will be their first Copa del Rey final in nine years.

Three days later, they will face Premier League champions, Man City in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

news conference, Ancelotti said: “It’s the Copa del Rey final and a semifinal, that’s all. I’m not playing for my life.” 

The Italian also said he’s not worried about his future but focused on two cup competitions, arguing his contract runs till 2024. 

“It’s a trophy, and then we have a semifinal to prepare for… My future is clear. My contract ends on June 30, 2024, not tomorrow,” he added.
