Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim, has made it clear that he will not change his tactical approach at the Premier League club.

He made this known during his pre-match briefing ahead of Man United’s home game against Chelsea on Saturday

Amorim has stuck with a 3-4-2-1 formation despite having the worst win percentage of any Red Devil boss since the Second World War.

The Portuguese tactician has also overseen Man United’s worst start in the Premier League for 33 years.

Despite these, when asked if he is willing to adjust his tactics since he isn’t getting results, Amorim said not even the Pope can influence him to change his mind.

“No, no, no,” he said.

“Not once [have I thought about changing]. Not even the Pope [can make me], it will not change.”

The 40-year-old manager further argued that bowing to pressure will undermine him in the eyes of his players.

“If I’m a player and I have a coach that, with a lot of pressure and [people] all around the world, are saying ‘you need to change the system’, says ‘I’m going to change’, they will look at me in a different way.

“Everything is important when you think about the impact that a decision is going to have on the team.

“I’m doing things my way. I hope to have the time to change but it will be an evolution.”
