British pundit and former England international Alan Shearer has said Brighton boss Fabian Hürzeler would be a good replacement for current Manchester United manager Michael Carrick if he loses his job.
The Newcastle United legend suggested this move to the Red Devils recently while speaking on Betfair.
Carrick was appointed Man United’s permanent manager a few months ago after he guided the team to a top-five finish in the Premier League and also qualified for the Champions League.
However, the English tactician is currently under pressure at Old Trafford, and his position is not one hundred per cent secure following a poor start to the Premier League season.

Man United sit in 13th place in the Premier League table after their 1-1 draw with Leeds over the weekend.
Carrick’s side have won just one out of their seven fixtures in the Premier League so far, losing two and drawing four.
Meanwhile, Hürzeler’s Brighton side currently occupy third place in the Premier League table with an 18-goal difference.
While suggesting who could lead the red half of Manchester if their current gaffer leaves, Shearer said, “If Michael Carrick is relieved of his duties, Fabian Hürzeler would be a good replacement, but it is a very different model at Brighton.”
