Tomeka Thiam, the wife of Senegalese-American singer, Aliaune Damala Bouga Time Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam, known mononymously as Akon, has filed for divorce a few days before their 29th marriage anniversary.
As reported by People on Saturday, court documents filed in Fulton County, Georgia, on September 11, 2025, reveal that she is seeking to dissolve the union on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.
In her petition, Thiam requested joint legal custody of their daughter, but asked for primary physical custody, with visitation rights granted to Akon.

Tomeka, who further requested spousal support from the singer, also urged the court to deny Akon request for any.
Akon had previously revealed he believes in polygamy, and in a 2022 interview on The Zeze Mill show, disclosed that has nine children.
Musician, Amirror corroborated the claim later when she alleged in 2023 that she was one of the singer’s four wives.
