Super Falcons striker, Rasheedat Ajibade picked up a deserved Woman of the Match (WOTM) award on Thursday night after Nigeria edge past hard-fighting Botswana at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations’ Group B game.
Justine Madugu’s ladies narrowly defeated the South African side 1-0 in the keenly contested encounter played at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.
Substitute, Chiwendu Ihezuo netted the winning goal late in the game, as Nigeria booked one of the quarter final spots.
Botswana’s resistance was broken, when Esther Okoronkwo fired a low cross into the six-yard box and Ihezuo was on hand to turn the ball into the net.

Ajibade, who started the game on the right side of Nigeria’s attack was deployed to the midfield after the break.
The 25-year-old put up a strong display, and was in action for the entire duration of the game.
Her colleague, Okoronkwo won the award during Nigeria’s 3-0 win against Tunisia.
The Super Falcons will face Algeria in their last group game scheduled for Casablanca on Sunday.
