Aisha Buhari, former Nigerian First Lady and wife of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, recently led a delegation to visit African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2027 elections.
This was disclosed on Wednesday night by the former Vice President in a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page.
Aisha, who is a professional cosmetologist, beauty therapist, and published author, was accompanied by one of her daughters and several associates.
The motive for the visit was not disclosed, nor had it been ascertained at the time of filing this report.
Addressing the former First Lady during the visit, Atiku lamented the hardship facing Nigerians, stating that across the country, “families are being stretched by the rising cost of food, transport, education, healthcare, and other basic necessities.”

The Adamawa State-born politician went on to pledge to build an economy that rewards hard work, restores opportunity, and allows every family to live with dignity and hope.
Atiku said: “Today, I was delighted to receive former First Lady, Aisha Buhari. Her visit was warm and deeply appreciated. Beyond the courtesies of the occasion, it was also a reminder of the urgent responsibility before all who seek a better Nigeria: to put the welfare, dignity, and future of our people first.”
He added: “Across our country, families are being stretched by the rising cost of food, transport, education, healthcare, and other basic necessities.
“Nigerians deserve an economy that rewards hard work, restores opportunity, and allows every family to live with dignity and hope. That is the Nigeria we must build together—a country that works for its people again.”
Atiku further promised that he remains committed to easing the burden on Nigerians to “restore hope and Make Nigeria Affordable Again.”
