After God, my loyalty is to Tinubu – Umahi

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has publicly reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, stating that next to God, the president holds his highest allegiance.
Umahi made the declaration during a press briefing on Monday in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital while responding to President Tinubu’s recent commendation of his achievements in infrastructure development.
Describing the president’s praise as deeply meaningful, Umahi said it was worth more than a trillion dollars, adding that it confirmed he was on the right path and that his prayers were being answered.
“I have told the president even publicly that my loyalty is to God first and then him,” Umahi said. “When a man gives you the type of trust Tinubu has given me, you will be of the devil to betray him.”
He warned that anyone who betrays such confidence would risk incurring divine judgment.

“Have you seen where a man presided over the procurement of a project worth N1.6 trillion and his boss did not call him to ask how he went about it?” he said, referring to a major infrastructure initiative.
Umahi emphasised that he continually prays to remain faithful to his responsibilities.
“I pray everyday that if I place myself, family and friends over God, Tinubu and Nigerians, let him not answer me,” he added.
He also dedicated the president’s commendation to all who support and pray for him, stating that it serves as motivation for contractors to work diligently.
“I also dedicate the president’s commendation to all those who pray for me to succeed in serving the people. This means that contractors would be on their toes to complete about 30 mega projects which the president will inaugurate by December 20,” the minister said.
