The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has revealed that its National Working Committee (NWC) will announce dates for primaries in Osun and Ekiti State’s off-cycle governorship elections soon.
ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi made this known on Thursday while addressing journalists after a caucus meeting of the party in Abuja.
Those present at the meeting included National Chairman David Mark; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; National Secretary Ogbeni Rauf; former Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai; former Sokoto State governor, Senator Aminu Tambuwal; and former Rivers State governor, Chibuike Amaechi.
Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was absent but sent apologies and reaffirmed his commitment to the coalition.
Speaking after the meeting, Abdullahi also said the party asked all its members with allegiance to other political parties to resign from the parties.

He, however, added that although the directive is the final order, the party’s caucus didn’t set a timeline.
He said, “Though a final order has been given to all members to resign membership of other political parties, the caucus was silent on the timeline.”
He went on to say the caucus also agreed that the party will not register the African Democratic Association (ADA).
“The Coalition has rested everything concerning the ADA. That means, they are not interested in the registration or otherwise of the association,” Abdullahi added.
Speaking on the 2027 race, the party’s spokesman stated that the ADC’s presidential aspirants had agreed to back whoever emerges winner of the primaries.
“All the presidential aspirants have agreed to support whoever wins the primary election,” he stated.
