.Says Gov. Ambode is free to join party

The state Chairman of African Democratic Party (ADC) in Lagos State, Chief Babatunde Daramola, has said that there was nothing to celebrate as the country marked 58 years of Independence.
Daramola said that the level of poverty and suffering ravaging the country showed that the country was experiencing dryness and nothing to celebrate after 58 years of independence.
He said that it was unfortunate that countries like India, Vietnam and Singapore, which resources were lower than Nigeria’s were doing well in economy, politics and commerce.
“For me there is nothing we can celebrate because this is not the country where we’re supposed to be in terms of economic development.
“There are many countries that are supposed not to be better than us in terms of economy but are currently moving higher than us.
Our security measure is nothing to write home about, our economy is suffering serious setback day by day and Nigerians cannot eat three square meals a day, so if all the goodies are not available, what are we celebrating then?” Daramola said.
The party chieftain said that the only thing Nigerians could celebrate was that they were alive.
“Let’s celebrate that we are alive. God keeps us alive and gives us sound health. That is the only thing Nigerians are enjoying for now.
“The way things are going, the ADC party is ready to deliver Nigerians from the poverty, disease, corruption and economic backwardness.
We are using this medium to call on Nigerians to vote for ADC come 2019 general elections so that we can bring the needed change to the country,” he said.
On the embattled Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, Daramola said that the party was ready to welcome the governor into its fold and field him as one of their governorship aspirants ahead of the 2019 general elections.
