Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has berated fellow actor and popular influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa for addressing her by her first name while greeting her recently, asking him, “Are you insane?”
The incident, which was captured in a now-trending video on social media, occurred at an event held in Lagos over the weekend.
Wumi, who will be 38 years old this July, was seen exchanging pleasantries with actresses Ini Edo and Eniola Ajao when 26-year-old Enioluwa said, “Wumi, how are you?” and attempted to hug her.
Reacting to the greeting, the thespian—who was visibly angered by how her younger colleague addressed her—pushed him back and asked, “Are you insane? Did you just call my name? How dare you call me by my name?”
Responding to the chastisement, Enioluwa replied, “No, no, I didn’t say that. I said, ‘Aunty Wumi, how are you?’”

Not impressed by his explanation, Wumi added, “You can’t greet me like that; you will have to prostrate to greet me. We are not mates.”
After the viral clip made the rounds, it elicited mixed reactions from netizens. While many backed the actress’s actions, others felt she took the matter too far.
Meanwhile, there were other Nigerians who argued that the video wasn’t real and was simply a pre-planned skit.
Reacting to the public discourse surrounding the saga, Wumi took to her Instagram story to insist she did the right thing.
She wrote: “I saw people debating my age. Nor be everyone ise de gbo ooo. All my family have baby faces. I finished secondary school in 2003. Do the maths. 16 year olds didn’t enter uni at that time.”
