Security operatives in two loaded trucks on Friday, besieged the house of former comptroller-general of Nigerian Customs Service, Mr Abdullahi Inde Dikko on Ahmed Musa Street, Jabi, Abuja while he was out of the country.
Stern-looking mobile policemen and officials of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrived at the house of the former Customs boss in Toyota Hiace trucks to search it.
Family members of the former Customs boss were held hostage as no one was allowed to either enter or leave the house while the search lasted.
The reason for the search of Dikkos’s residence by security operatives may not be unconnected with his activities during the over six years when he held sway as the boss of the ‘prime’ revenue agency of the government.
It would be recalled that Dikko, from Katsina State, became Comptroller-General of Customs on August 17, 2009 and resigned his appointment in August 2015, four months into President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
