Portugal head coach, Jorge Jesus, has reacted to his recent fallout with the country’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, insisting he has a “clear conscience” over the saga.
He made this known recently while addressing the incident on Sport TV.
Ronaldo left the Portuguese training camp in Copenhagen on Wednesday ahead of the UEFA Nations League ties against Denmark and Norway.
The 41-year-old was upset with Jesus over his remarks at a press conference after leaving him as an unused substitute against Norway on Sunday.
Although his teammates tried to stop him from leaving, the legend left the camp and later justified his decision on social media.

He wrote: “After the national team coach’s press conference and after a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, I decided to leave the national team camp.
”In due course, I will tell all Portuguese people the reasons that led me to leave the national team, to which I have always been devoted.
”Now is the time to wish Portugal and all my teammates, without exception, good luck.”
Reacting, Jesus noted that his actions weren’t a deliberate act aimed at rubbishing the person of Ronaldo.
Speaking during the interview, he said: “I am completely relaxed, with a clear conscience regarding this situation.
“After Sunday’s match, we will talk about everything.”
