I Go Save made this known in a recent post while weighing in on Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 polls.

Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian and comic actor, Otaghware Onodjayeke, better known as I Go Save, has described the 2027 general elections as a contest between the “poor” and the “paid poor”.
He made this known on Monday, 28 September 2026, in a post shared on his official Instagram page while weighing in on the country’s political landscape ahead of the polls.
The 2027 general elections are scheduled to take place next year, with the seats for President and Vice President, as well as members of the Senate and House of Representatives, set for 16 January 2027, whilst elections for state governors and members of the State Houses of Assembly will take place on 6 February 2027.
Expressing concern ahead of the election, the comedian said financial inducement of voters will influence political choices.

He further noted that the outcome of elections is often shaped not only by economic hardship, but also by individuals who, despite facing similar challenges, are willing to defend politicians in exchange for financial gain.
Taking to his verified handle, I Go Save wrote: “2027 election is between the poor and the paid poor.”
After his post made the rounds across various social media platforms, it elicited mixed reactions among netizens, who shared their views in the comment section.
Whilst the majority of those who commented agreed with the actor, a few others defended those selling their votes, arguing that politicians deliberately leave citizens in poverty so they cannot emancipate themselves.
