Afrobeats star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has shared a painful heartbreak experience after a lady he dated rejected his proposal to commit to a long-term relationship.
The ‘Calm Down’ hitmaker made this known on Friday night while speaking during a live stream with streamer Okiki.
According to Rema, he asked the lady for a “serious relationship”, but she turned him down because she was not ready to commit to one man.

The 26-year-old artist further emphasised that the lady told him she still wanted to explore life as a single woman and did not want to be taken “off the streets” yet.
He added that the heartbreak he suffered due to the rejection inspired his song, ‘Oh No’.
“The song was inspired by a lady I wanted a serious relationship with, but she said she still wants to be on the streets,” Rema said.
He also shared that he is taking time to re-evaluate his life because “everything moved so fast” after he became famous at the age of 17.
