Parable of the family boat

The whole family on board the boat,
In the middle of the sea, and then a storm arose.

All will sink and perish,
Unless one is thrown in to appease,
The gods of the sea so hungry.

And so the Obo Kinsmen reasoned:
“Why allow the family to languish in poverty,
When that could be averted,
Just by selling one odd person,
Into slavery to the Bubaris,
And let the rest be saved?”
