Fireboy DML recounts frightening experiences after relocating to Lagos

​Afrobeats star and songwriter Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has recalled some frightening experiences he had after relocating to Lagos to pursue his music dreams.

​The ‘Peru’ hitmaker recounted the life-changing encounters during a recent livestream with his fans and other netizens.

​While opening up about the culture shock he experienced, Fireboy noted that he witnessed someone losing their sanity and saw dead bodies in the streets.

​The 30-year-old artist went on to add that the level of cult activity and the appearance of Lagosians, in general, also terrified him.

​He, however, refused to quit and adapted to the city’s lifestyle.

​Speaking during the session, Fireboy said, “I was so scared the first time I came to Lagos in 2016, in Surulere. People’s eyes were so red, and they looked scary. In two weeks, I saw someone run mad, dead bodies and cultists. Now, I also look like those scary people.”
