Chelsea had to come from behind to earn a 2-2 draw against promoted side Hull City in a Premier League encounter played at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Morgan Rogers gave the hosts the lead in the 7th minute, but Hull went into the break ahead after a brace from Mohamed Belloumi.

Xabi Alonso brought on Pep Chavarría for Hato at half-time, but Chelsea struggled to break down Hull’s defence, with Tzolakis forced into action only by an excellent James free-kick shortly after the restart.

In response, McBurnie saw a close-range effort brilliantly saved by Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martínez after the Argentine had parried Regan Slater’s shot from the edge of the area into his path.

However, the reigning Premier League Player of the Month, striker João Pedro, levelled the score for the Blues after curling a shot into the top corner in the 66th minute.

It was nearly all Chelsea late on as Estêvão Willian and Danny Welbeck were among those brought on, but Hull substitute Mohamed-Ali Cho had arguably the best chance to win the match in the 87th minute — his poorly struck shot was easily saved.

With the draw, Hull City stayed third in the table with eight points, ahead of Chelsea who are fourth with seven points from four league fixtures.
