Odogwu Asaba’s wife rejects rape allegation, says husband had an affair with deceased

The wife of Delta State content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, has publicly defended her husband amid ongoing rape allegations involving the late 20-year-old Favour Agbro.
In a video shared on Ogbonna’s TikTok account, his wife said she stood firmly by her husband and rejected the allegation that he raped or caused Favour’s death.
Ogbonna has been in the Delta state police custody since July 15, 2026, after he was arrested for the alleged rape of 20-year-old lady, Favour Agbor, who later committed suicide following the incident.
According to the police, the suspect had invited Favour to Asaba under the guise of training her for content creation, where he allegedly raped and physically assaulted her. Favour had subsequently made a video to explain her ordeal, before reportedly ingesting a toxic substance which led to her death.
The victim’s family had filed petitions directed at the police to properly investigate the case to bring justice to the victim. The case has since generated widespread fractions from Nigerians, with many seeking justice for the victim.
However, speaking in a video, Ogbonna’s wife rejected the rape allegations, stating that she had been following the developments surrounding the case and has decided to speak after gathering more information.
She claimed that Ogbonna did not rape Favour, but instead had an affair with her.
“Odogwu Asaaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband… He did not rape favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl. He cannot rape. He has never. Even when he did not have fame, he did not rape anybody. Is it now that he has?”
She further expressed, what she described as 100% support and commitment towards her husband, who she has been married to for 8 years. She then urged Nigerians not to view social media as a substitute for legal proceedings and vowed to reveal more information about the matter.
“Everything is not actually the way they presented it. Before i could come out to talk, i have learnt a lot about this matter. Social media is not a courtroom. You people should bear that in mind,” she said.
She also acknowledged Favour’s death, claiming that it was the reason why she was trying to confront the matter with caution.
“Yes, someone has died and that is why we are taking it easy. But Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody,” she said.
She said that Ogbonna would later narrate his side of the story after his return from the police’s custody.
Her video has gained traction across several platforms and has received criticism from many Nigerians, who claim she was only trying to cover up her husband’s crime.
Nevertheless, the case is still being investigated and has not been judged in the court of law.
