Nigerian singer and instrumentalist Seun Kuti has refuted claims that he left the wedding ceremony of popular TikTokers and influencers Peller and Jarvis in anger.
He denied the allegation recently when he was confronted by Fuji singer Malaika at the open-air live music and cultural centre, the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos.
According to reports, Seun angrily stormed out of the event after one of the MCs cracked jokes about the controversial “Wizkid is bigger than Fela” debate.
A viral video circulating afterwards captured the moment Seun made his way towards the exit saying, “We are in the wrong place.”

The saga has since sparked controversy among netizens online and Nigerians as a whole, with one of the MCs accusing Seun of having anger issues.
However, reacting to the allegation, Seun Kuti denied leaving the ceremony in anger as insinuated by many.
He explained that he stayed at the wedding ceremony until 8:30 pm but later left the venue to attend to another urgent matter.
When confronted with the allegation by Malaika, Seun said: “I left Peller’s wedding at about 8:30 pm. I came to the Shrine. There’s an event at the Shrine and I have to be there. But bloggers were saying I left angrily. Was I supposed to be dancing when I was hurriedly leaving the place for another event?”
