Cameroon will play their last Group D fixture against Cape Verde on Thursday, 6 August, in Casablanca, Morocco.

Cameroon emerged as the first nation to qualify for the quarter-finals of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Monday in Casablanca, following a narrow 1-0 win over Ghana.
Marie Ngah Manga’s strike settled the encounter as she netted her third goal of the tournament, helping the Indomitable Lionesses take control of Group D.
Prior to this match between the two African heavyweights, Cameroon had defeated Mali 2-1 in their opening group fixture.

Their latest victory, however, means Valentine Nguele’s side now have six points and will progress as group winners.
In the group’s other game, Mali edged to a 3-2 victory over Cape Verde, who became the first country to be eliminated from the competition.
Ghana’s meeting with Mali on Thursday will now be a straight shoot-out for second place.
A draw would be enough for the Black Queens to progress, given their superior goal difference heading into that winner-takes-all showdown.
