South Africa coach Hugo Broos has claimed that his tactics helped his team defeat South Korea in their final World Cup group fixture.
The 74-year-old Belgian tactician made this known during his post-match interview.
Broos watched as his men beat South Korea 1-0 on Thursday, thanks to Thapelo Maseko’s second-half goal.
The victory means Bafana Bafana advance to the World Cup Round of 32, where they will face co-host nation Canada this weekend.

Speaking after edging past the Asian team, Broos insisted that his team did exceptionally well tactically against South Korea.
He added that his approach ensured their opponents could not find the spaces they wanted during the crucial encounter.
”We played really well and created chances. Tactically, we did really well, and the Korea Republic couldn’t find the spaces that they wanted,” Broos said, as quoted on FIFA’s website.
He added: “We scored the goal, and then it was 20 minutes with a very high heart rate. What we did in the last five years is amazing.
“When you work together for such a long time, there is a connection, and it is more than a relationship between coach and players; we have become friends. We just have to enjoy this.”
