An old video of Nollywood actress Muoghalu Judith, popularly known as Judy Austin, denying having an affair with her current husband, actor Yul Edochie, while still married to her ex-husband, Emmanuel Obasi, has set tongues wagging on social media.

Prior to this development, Obasi, whilst appearing on the latest edition of The Honest Bunch podcast, alleged that his former wife was infatuated with Yul while still married to him.

He further claimed he can prove they were dating during their marriage, adding that he has evidence to back up the claim.

Amidst the latest allegations, a 2023 video of Judy addressing claims that she met Yul while still married to Obasi has resurfaced online.

In the trending clip, the thespian reveals that she only met her current husband and colleague after her initial marriage had crashed.

Responding to her critics at the time, Judy said: “This is just me answering the obvious question that has been flying around. The question is, ‘Were you in your previous marriage when you met Yul Edochie?’ The answer is no. That is the fattest lie ever told about me on social media. My previous marriage ended in March 2013. I saw Yul Edochie for the very first time—I mean, I saw him for the very first time—years after my previous marriage ended. So, anyone saying otherwise is lying.”

To further assert her innocence, she added: “However, if I am telling the truth, let all the curses and insults go back to the people saying it a billion times over.”

The re-emergence of the old video has elicited mixed reactions. While some netizens suggested she is guilty as charged, others urged her to ignore her ex-husband and move on.

An internet user identified as Foxyblueu wrote: “I don’t support the ex-husband’s late drama, but dodging the exact year you met Yul makes this whole damage control very weak, sister.”

Another user, TwaLofty, said: “It will definitely happen to u madam…So, u left ur own marriage to go and destroy another woman’s home? As in how? U intentionally left ur home then went ahead to break someone else’s home and u still hv mind talk without sh@me? No wonder people insult some single mothers.”

Meanwhile, NsikakabasiAkp2 added: “My problem is with Igbo men like why would you wife someone that had has slept with other men and got kids as well like.”

However, another Nigerian, IyajiMaryam, urged the actress to stop dignifying her ex-husband with a reply.

She said: “Judy, let this be the last time you’re explaining yourself. Marriage is not by force, he should move on. How many years will it take him to stop wailing? We are tired of all this nonsense jor. Nigeria is bleeding and we are focused on this.”
