Popular broadcaster, radio host, and influencer Ifedayo Olarinde, better known as Daddy Freeze, has come under fire for criticising the song ministration of gospel artist Mercy Chinwo during the service of songs for the late actor, Alexx Ekubo.

The media personality, while recounting his experience and explaining why he left the event in a video circulating online, levelled certain allegations against some of the celebrities in attendance.

In the clip, Daddy Freeze wondered why gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey—who noted that he and his pastor friend had planned to visit the actor before he died—could not perform a miracle when they sang and prayed for him after his demise.

He also condemned the pastor’s preaching, questioning why a sermon was needed at such a gathering.

He went on to claim he eventually got up and went home when Mercy Chinwo turned the event into a concert.

He queried, “Does Mercy Chinwo not have soft music? Do you not understand what a funeral is? They should have sung hymns.”

A netizen identified as braye_fah wrote: “Wait… was the service of songs organised to please you? Mtcheeew.”

Another internet user, isio_joseph, said: “Pray when you die you will be honoured half the way Alex was honoured!!! Very soon you will not be allowed into people’s events.”

model103 added: “The truth is that the sermon got @daddyfreeze so hard that his spirit is now reacting to it.”

Another Nigerian, dammyslim, commented: “Reason why this guy kept everything private. Small invite wey you get, you don set your camera.”

While donmayor.maserati wrote: “@daddyfreeze e go reach your turn. Write down how you want yours to be and give it to your lawyer. You are always off point and on the wrong side.”
