BBNaija star Thelma says she rejected Rooboy’s advances over lack of ‘father figure’ qualities for her son

Thelma also claimed Rooboy was upset by the rejection and subsequently began speculating that she was “a bitter person”.

​Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 10 star Thelma Lawson has explained that she turned down a romantic proposition from her colleague, Kayode Olatunde—popularly known as Rooboy—while on the programme, due to his lifestyle.

​The skincare entrepreneur and lifestyle influencer made this known on Friday night during the final episode of the BBNaija reunion show.

​Rooboy, during the 2025 edition of the reality TV show, approached Thelma for a romantic relationship, but she rejected his advances.

​Justifying her decision to snub him, Thelma explained that she declined his romantic proposition because he is not the kind of man she wants around her son.

She noted that Rooboy’s tattoos, occupation, and loud nature do not fit the image of the father figure she desires for her child.

​She did, however, note that despite not being inclined to start a romantic relationship with him, she does not mind being his friend.

​Speaking on the show, Thelma said: “Rooboy could not even spell correctly. I do not want him around my son. He is too loud, and his tattoos are not the lifestyle that I want. We can be friends, just friends.”

​She further alleged that the hypeman was upset by the rejection and subsequently began speculating that she was “a bitter person.”

​Responding, Rooboy admitted that he had asked Thelma out but insisted that he was not upset about the rejection.

​He also claimed a fellow ex-BBNaija housemate, Otega, asked the Rivers State-born reality star out.

​He said: ‘I told Thelma that I liked her and would like to date her. I was talking to Otega as a brother, not knowing he was also in the picture.’
