British commentator and former Arsenal midfielder, Paul Merson, has advised Gunners’ manager, Mikel Arteta, to field injury-doubt Jurrien Timber in the upcoming UEFA Champions League (UCL) final against Paris Saint-Germain, even if he is only half-fit.
He made the suggestion recently while speaking on the latest edition of ‘The Good, The Bad & The Football’ podcast.
Arsenal and PSG will battle in the Champions League final in Budapest on Saturday.
While the French champions are gunning for their second consecutive UCL trophy, their English counterparts are trying to win it for the first time in their history.

However, Timber, who lifted the Premier League trophy alongside his teammates on Sunday, has missed the last two months of the season with a groin injury.
The 24-year-old Dutchman will now hope to be fit in time to play against Luis Enrique’s side.
Speaking ahead of the elite European encounter, Merson said: “I think Jurrien Timber has to play.”
The Arsenal legend added: “There’s talk that he will be fit. He’s got to play, even if he’s half-fit. I would take a chance on him because he has to play in that game.”
