Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has described the 2025/2026 English Premier League (EPL) champions, Arsenal, as currently “the best team off the ball in Europe”.

The Dutch tactician made the claim on Friday during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Reds’ final league clash with Brentford at Anfield.

According to Slot, football has evolved following Arsenal’s Premier League title triumph this season.

He also congratulated the Gunners, claiming they are the first team in 30 years to score 40 per cent of their total Premier League goals from set-pieces.

While addressing journalists, Slot said: “Winning the league here in England is never easy, and they have done a tremendous job this season, so congratulations to them.

“First of all, because it’s the first time in 30 years that a team has had 40 per cent of the goals they had from set-pieces.

“I think Luis Enrique said – and I completely agree with him – they are maybe by far the best team off the ball in our league, but I also think in Europe.

“So, football has changed, has evolved, and we have to make sure we are able next season again to compete with Arsenal and with [Manchester] City again with our own brand of football.”
