Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ace singer-songwriter and music producer David Adeleke (better known as Davido), and other Nigerian celebrities have joined Arsenal fans across the country to celebrate after the club finally ended their painful 22-year wait for the English Premier League (EPL) title.

The Gunners on Tuesday night officially secured the 2025/2026 EPL trophy after their nearest rivals, Manchester City, were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Following the stalemate, Pep Guardiola’s men can no longer catch the leaders, as they sit on 78 points while Arsenal lead with 82 points with just one game left to play.

It is the first time the North London club has won the league title since the legendary 2003/2004 ‘Invincibles’ era, and the historic moment sparked emotional reactions across social media, viewing centres, and football communities nationwide.

For millions of Nigerian Arsenal supporters, this was more than just another trophy—it was the end of two decades of heartbreak, banter, near misses, and painful collapses.

Across Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, Benin, Ibadan, and several other cities, jubilant fans flooded social media timelines with celebratory videos, releasing years of pent-up excitement.

He wrote: “Congratulations to Arsenal on a well-deserved Premier League victory. This title is a testament to resilience, discipline, teamwork, and the courage to keep believing even when the odds seemed difficult. As a proud supporter, tonight is special. Well done to the players, the manager, and the incredible fans who never stopped believing. North London is red again.”

Also lauding the historic triumph, Davido expressed his desire to see Arsenal conquer Europe next, posting: “BACK A GUNNER !!!”

On his part, Afrobeats singer Chike enthusiastically shared a video rejoicing over the title and jokingly told his stylist to get his aso ebi (ceremonial outfit) ready for the championship parade. In another post, he wrote: “22 years later 🏆❤️❤️❤️❤️✈️”

Celebrating alongside his children, reggae-dancehall artist Patoranking joined millions of Nigerian fans to mark the end of the club’s long drought, declaring: “God is the greatest ❤️❤️❤️ #Arsenal”
