Wizkid and Asake earned a joint nomination in the Best Group category at the BET Awards.

Ace Nigerian Afrobeats stars Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tems and Asake have all been nominated for the upcoming 2026 BET Awards.
The ceremony, which is one of Black culture’s most prestigious international award platforms, will be held in Los Angeles, California, United States on 28 June 2026.
American comedian, actor and influencer Drew Desbordes, better known as Druski, is expected to host the eagerly anticipated ceremony, which will air live at 8 p.m. ET on BET.

When the nominations for the annual event were unveiled on Tuesday, several prominent Nigerian artists received recognition across various music categories.
Following their collaborative project and a series of chart-topping releases, Asake and Wizkid earned a joint nomination in the Best Group category.
Tems also stands out as one of the most-nominated African artists, earning three nods: Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, the BET Her Award for her song “First”, and a Viewers’ Choice nomination for “Raindance”, her collaboration with Dave.
Burna Boy, on the other hand, was nominated in the Best Collaboration category for his feature on Gunna’s hit single, “WGFT”.
