POEM: Soothsayer, whose reincarnate?
By Abraham Nwankwo
The news of her daughters delivery has come:
A baby boy; but whose reincarnate?
So to Oyiraru the soothsayer, Ukadi goes.
With a cock for the consultation fee required.
Oyiraru tosses the seven “okwe” sacred seeds,
He gathers and recasts the seeds four times.
“It’s Obinze your late husband,” he tells.
And Ukadi leaves for home full of joy.
