Former Kogi State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye, has applauded ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar for winning the recently conducted African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries.
He hailed his emergence as the flag bearer of the party for the 2027 presidential election in a now-trending post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page.
On Wednesday night, Tunde Ogbeha, who was in charge of the ADC presidential primary election, declared Atiku as the winner of the contest.
According to him, the Adamawa State-born politician got 1,846,370 votes to defeat two other candidates, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen and Rotimi Amaechi.
While the former minister received 504,117 votes, Hayatu-Deen garnered 177,120 votes to come third.
Prior to this, North London outfit Arsenal, whom Atiku supports, celebrated winning its first English Premier League (EPL) title in 22 years on 19 May.
Reacting to the former Vice President’s triumph, Melaye likened Atiku’s victory in the ADC’s presidential primary to Arsenal’s recent success in the English league.
Speaking via his verified handle, the former Kogi West Senator wrote: “Boss, you did it just like Arsenal.”
