British pundit and former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, has taken a swipe at his former club’s manager, Rúben Amorim, and his team — despite the Red Devils beating Wolves 4-1 in a Premier League game played on Monday night.

He made his feelings known after the match while speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.

Manchester United, after surrendering a one-goal lead at Molineux, went on to score three more goals and consequently moved to the fifth position on the log table.

Despite the emphatic win, however, Scholes slammed Rúben Amorim for the way he is managing the team.

He also labelled the team as “rubbish” while questioning Amorim’s treatment of midfielder Kobbie Mainoo in particular.

Mainoo is yet to make his first start in the Premier League this season under Amorim.

The England youngster is down the pecking order at Old Trafford since Amorim’s appointment last year.

While addressing the issue during the show, Scholes said, “Rúben Amorim has said Kobbie Mainoo is a starter… every appearance he’s made in the Premier League has been as a sub. Things like that wind me up.

“I wouldn’t mind if he was in a good team and they were winning every week and keeping possession, but they’re rubbish.

“Kobbie is a 20-year-old kid, and he’s not playing. He is going to have to leave.
“But look at what he’s already done – scored the winner in an FA Cup final, played every game in the Euros.

“I bet he takes the piss out of Casemiro every single day in training and is brilliant. I don’t know why the club are letting Amorim treat a homegrown talent like that.”
