The Alara of Aramoko Ekiti in Ekiti State, Oba Olu Adegoke has passed away.
The monarch, according to a statement on Saturday by his family, died on Friday at the age of 82.
In the release, the family praised his “remarkable leadership, wisdom, and dedication to the welfare of his people.”
The statement further read, “Oba Adeyemi’s impact on the community will forever be cherished as testament to his enduring legacies.”
Born on December 4, 1942, the late monarch began his career as a teacher before rising to the position of senior civil servant.

He later served as Sole Administrator of the defunct Ifesowapo Local Government.
In 2009, Oba Adeyemi ascended the throne of his forefathers as the Alara of Aramoko Ekiti.
The late royal father distinguished himself in the academic sector, serving as Chancellor of Ekiti State University, where he championed projects aimed at improving education standards and expanding access for local students.
During his reign, Oba Adeyemi was credited with fostering unity, driving community development, preserving cultural heritage, resolving disputes, and promoting youth empowerment.
Funeral arrangements, the family said, will be announced in due course.
